THE FORGETTING |
| Summary |
Police officer Pia Kraus (Julia Koschitz), who has been diagnosed with an early form of Alzheimer’s Desease, is determined to solve the mysterious disappearance of her 17-year-old niece Amelie (Fabia Matuschek). But after six months of fruitless searching, Amelie’s body is discovered in a nearby marsh. The gruesome discovery completely shatters the life of her mother, Caro (Martina Ebm), Pia’s sister. Pia promises her sister she’ll find Amelie’s killer—at any cost. At the same time, she must come to terms with a devastating diagnosis of her own: she has an early form of Alzheimer’s Desease. Pia’s memories are fading more and more, and her thoughts are becoming unreliable. Despite the strain, she continues her investigation, but the pressure is tearing apart her family, her friendships, and the village community. Yet Pia doesn’t give up. She is driven by her unshakable determination to bring the truth to light. But the answers she finds bring neither peace nor redemption—neither for her nor for the village. |
